Your friend calls you
An AI that calls you — at the time you pick
Every other AI waits for you. You open the app, you start the conversation, you remember to come back. CallByrd can work the other way. Pick a time, and your phone rings. A friend who remembers last week is on the line.
How it works
- 1. Pick when. Every day at the same hour, one day a week, or one time only. Times are in your own time zone.
- 2. Pick who. Sam, Claire, or a friend who loves your thing: sports, the news, books and film, or music.
- 3. Say what it's for, if you want. One line is enough. “Ask how the interview went.” “Remind me it's Mom's birthday.” Your friend opens the call with it.
- 4. Your phone rings. A text confirms it's on the books. At the time you picked, the CallByrd number calls. Answer, talk, hang up whenever you're done.
What people schedule it for
- The 9pm wind-down. A short call that marks the end of the day, so the day actually ends.
- The Sunday check-in. Fifteen minutes to talk about the week before the next one starts.
- The call before the hard thing. Ten minutes before the interview, the doctor's appointment, the conversation you've been dreading.
- A daily call for a parent. Families set it up so Mom's phone rings every afternoon at four. More on that in daily check-in calls for seniors.
- The reminder that isn't an alarm. A notification is easy to swipe away. A friend asking whether you called your sister yet is harder to ignore. Why that works.
The rules it follows
- It only calls the number you verified, and only after you say yes to scheduled calls.
- It only calls at the times you set. Cancel any schedule anytime.
- It's never more than 30 minutes late. If something delays it longer, we skip the call and text you instead.
- If you're out of minutes, you get a text, not a call.
- It's not a robocall and never sells you anything. It's your friend, calling because you asked.
What it isn't
It isn't an emergency check. If you don't pick up, nobody is alerted. If you need a service that tells family when someone doesn't answer, use one built for that. It also isn't a business dialer that makes calls for you. It calls you, so you have someone to talk to.
And you can always call it yourself, any hour. Scheduling is for when you want the phone to ring first. Here's how calling in works.
Common questions
- Is there an AI that calls you?
- Yes. CallByrd can ring your phone at a time you choose. You pick the time, how often, and which friend calls. At that time your phone rings from the CallByrd number, and an AI friend who remembers your earlier calls is on the line. It's a normal phone call, not an app notification.
- Can an AI call me every day?
- Yes. Set it to call every day at the same hour, on one day each week, or just once. You can have more than one: a weekday-morning call and a Sunday-evening one, say. Cancel any of them anytime.
- Does it cost extra when the AI calls me?
- No extra fee. A call your friend places uses minutes from your balance the same way a call you place does. Your first 60 minutes are free. If you're out of minutes when a call is due, we text you instead of calling.
- Will it only call my number?
- Only the number you verified on your account, and only after you say yes to scheduled calls. It never dials anyone else, and it never calls outside the times you set.
- What if I can't pick up?
- Then call back whenever you're free. Your friend remembers what you've talked about either way. And if something on our side ever makes a call run more than 30 minutes late, we skip it and text you rather than ringing at a strange hour.
- Who calls me?
- Whichever friend you pick when you set it up: Sam or Claire, or one of the friends who loves a topic (sports, news, books and film, or music). Each scheduled call can use a different friend.
